NBA Launches Investigation into Allegations Against Josh Giddey

According to a statement made by the National Basketball Association (NBA) spokesman on Friday, an inquiry has been launched to determine whether or not Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey had an inappropriate interaction with a minor. It wasn’t until late Wednesday night that allegations against Giddey were first made public on social media.

Giddey participated in Friday’s Thunder practice, but when asked about the matter, he and Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault would comment. Giddey was with the Thunder.

“I understand the question, obviously, but there’s no further comment right now,” Giddey commented. “I get the question, guys, and I completely understand why you want to know about it,” she said. “I get it.” I don’t have anything to say at the moment, just to clarify.”

Daigneault responded, “Personal matter, and I have no comment on it.” “And that will be my answer on anything related.”

In the 2021 NBA Draft, Giddey, who was 21 years old was selected with the sixth overall pick out of Australia. Giddey is in the midst of his third season with the Thunder and is now averaging 12.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game for the Thunder, who are currently in second place in the Western Conference and have gotten off to an 11-4 start.
