Austin Reaves, a guard with the NBA Los Angeles Lakers, just signed a deal worth $56 million for four years. The Chinese company Rigorer released a new shoe that carries his signature. The up-and-coming talent is 25 years old and has just received his first call-up to Team USA for the FIBA World Cup.
His most recent interview will surely win him the admiration of even more Filipino fans in a short time.
The question “What have you heard about Filipino basketball fans?” was posed to Reaves in a video posted by FIBA.
Fans of the Philippines and the teammate LeBron James will be delighted with his responses.
“I’ve heard that they’re huge fans of the Lakers, which, of course, is something that I adore. On the other hand, they watch a lot of basketball in general.”
Reaves is correct in his assessment, as most people in the Philippines cheer for the Lakers. There is a good chance that everyone reading this is in touch with somebody who follows the Purple and Gold squad.
In addition, the redemption effort for Team USA will be followed closely around the country.
On August 26, Reaves and the rest of the United States team will play their first game of the FIBA World Cup, which will be against New Zealand. At the MOA Arena, they will compete in their group-stage matches.
