This weekend’s activities around the NBA 3X Philippines tournament will be headlined by NBA champion Jason Williams, who is now in the Philippines.
Even though it’s been more than a decade since Jason Williams played in an NBA game, he still has that adorable smile and childish air about him, like he was about to dash down the floor and throw a pass behind his back.
On a busy afternoon on a Friday, a large queue of fans stood in front of the NBA Store in SM Megamall in the Philippines. These fans will remember the outrageous dishes and highlight plays that the champion guard made.
Williams remarked that it was “amazing to me that I have that many supporters that are so far away.” “Whenever I’ve come here, the fans have been kind to me. And it just keeps getting better.”
Williams will be headlining NBA 3X Philippines, which will take place at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall on March 25 and 26. The event will be held in the Philippines. After a break of three years, the 3×3 celebrations are being brought back by the NBA today.
“3x is a challenging sport. Williams advised that one must possess a high level of intelligence. “You have to use common sense, and then we will find out what takes place.”
Williams, who had been selected seventh overall in the 1998 NBA Draft as a first-year player for the Sacramento Kings, caused a sensation in the league. In addition to his one-of-a-kind bundle of layups, he impressed fans with no-look dimes and clever crossovers.
According to Williams, if there were a season that stands out to him personally other than his title run with the Miami Heat in 2006, it would be his rookie year. This is a statement that is both fitting and accurate.
“That’s probably what I’m most remembered for, so I’ll put that to a close second with the 2006 (title),” he added. “That’s probably what I’m most remembered for.”
Williams may have a different flair for the game than he once did, but it hasn’t prevented him from having fun with it. He stays current with today’s players, especially keeping a close eye on the most talented playmakers in the game.
“Nowadays, every single one of those guys is solid. The point guards are competent. There isn’t one that stands out from the rest. It’s fun for me to watch all of the guys compete. But Luka Doncic is pretty good,” the person stated.
Williams, a guard who formerly played for the Sacramento Kings and the Memphis Grizzlies, said that the expansion of NBA clubs is beneficial for the league as a whole and that it’s something that he’s seen firsthand.
Williams, who previously competed for the Orlando Magic, expressed his opinion that the National Basketball Association (NBA) is currently in a favorable position due to the presence of numerous strong clubs. They have many outstanding players who play for different teams in the league.
Williams, who is now 47 years old, continues to have great enthusiasm for the sport, and he is looking forward to spending the upcoming weekend in the countryside. And now that the NBA playoffs are just around the corner, he is even more excited about it.
“I’m not pulling for anyone in particular, and I don’t know why. “All I want to do is watch a bunch of Game 7s,” he stated with a wide grin.
