Haliburton Eliminated Celtics From NBA In-Season Tournament

As a result of his incredible clutch shooting during the Pacers’ 122–112 victory over the Celtics on Monday, Tyrese Haliburton, a guard for the Pacers, will eternally be remembered as a legendary figure in the history of the NBA in-season tournament.

The highly anticipated first quarterfinal matchup between Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics in the tournament came down to the wire. Haliburton attempted to make a play at the three-point line, with the score tied at 105 and 1:33 remaining in regulation. The game was eventually decided by a single point.

Haliburton lifted his shot and hit a massive 27-foot shot while drawing a foul. This occurred after he witnessed the Celtics standout Jaylen Brown switch onto him during the pick-and-roll possession. This stunning four-point play that launched a game-closing 17–7 run was made possible by the 23-year-old player, who went on to convert the free throw, which added to the momentum that was already present.

Not only did Haliburton’s heroics put Indiana in a position to win the elimination game, but they also served as the ideal closing touch to his faultless maiden career triple-double, which consisted of 26 points, 13 assists, 10 rebounds, and zero turnovers.

It will be fascinating to see what Haliburton does for an encore when his team takes the court for the semifinals in Las Vegas on Thursday. The Pacers have now advanced to the next National Basketball Association playoffs round.
