Today, Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations for the Memphis Grizzlies, announced that guard-forward Dillon Brooks had been suspended for one game without pay for receiving his 16th technical foul of the 2022-23 season. Brooks’ suspension will take effect immediately.
After a player or coach accumulates 16 technical fouls throughout a regular season in the NBA, the league rules mandate that they be immediately suspended without pay for one game. The player or coach will be immediately suspended without pay for an extra game for every two technical fouls they incur during that regular season. These fouls may be accumulated throughout the season.
Brooks was assessed his most recent technical foul with 5 minutes and 45 seconds left in the fourth quarter of the Grizzlies’ defeat to the Denver Nuggets by a score of 113-97 at Ball Arena on March 3.
On March 5, when the Grizzlies take on the Clippers in a game scheduled to take place at Crypto.com Arena, Brooks will serve the ban handed down to him.
